Mentor a CalTeach Student

Local K–12 science and math teachers are an integral part of the CalTeach program and we are always eager to connect and work with educators interested in supporting the next generation of outstanding teachers. We depend on experienced elementary, middle school, and high school teachers to serve as mentors to our students during their field-based experiences.

Mentor teachers open their classrooms to Cal Teach students, offering guidance and support as they begin to learn about classroom teaching. Pairs of Cal Teach students come into the classroom to observe and assist mentor teachers for 1–4 hours a week. Click here for more information about being a mentor teacher.

If you would like a pair of volunteers this upcoming semester please email the Student Services Coordinator at advising_calteach@berkeley.edu.
